Can i do natural labour with spina bifida? Momz2be asked:

i think u should be asking r specialist whos a trained dr instead ppl who have no idea really and may give wrong advise we dont know how bad urs is. seek ur specialist for ur answers.

Definitely talk to your doctor. I know there are many different degrees of spina bifida so I’m sure there are many factors to consider. I have the very mildest form and I’ve had 2 vaginal deliveries, but like I said, I had the mildest form possible.
It is possible, but your doctor may decide it isn’t best for you. You’ll have to talk that through with your doctor. Hopefully you haven’t had to tough of a life with your spina bifida..I know first hand it isn’t all that easy to deal with having it myself. (I have the worst case, myelomeningocele) Although I’m a guy and won’t ever have to ask myself this question. Congratulations on the newborn to be and Good luck.
depends … ur ligaments loosen up due to the hormone relaxin … i suppose they would give u a trial of labor but opt for an emergency c-sec if it doesnt progress…
other things matter too, like optimal position of ur baby, ur pelvic cavity dimensions etc….
the lumbar vertebrae are 5 in number, so it also depends on which ones are split and wat extent it is….
i am sure ur doctor will be a better person to advise u
