We are ttc and if i was pregnant I would be 9 DPO. I started taking prenatals today and was wondering, if this is my month, would it be to late to recieve the full benifits of the folic acid in the prenatels to prevent spina bifida?

It is definately not too late. You can also get folic acid through your diet so that is an added benefit you have had all along. Most women don’t start taking prenatals and folic acid until after pregnancy is confirmed and their doctor prescribes them so I say 9 dpo is definately in no way too late.
Best wishes!

To get the absolute full benefits, yes.
However, you will still get absolutely amazing benefits from taking it now.
For best results, you should be taking it prior to conception

Starting now would be better than nothing, but I don’t think you get the full benefits. If you are TTC you should be taking folic acid even before you start trying.
